Itineraries
The Rainforests & Highlands | 7D/6N
Arrival in Antananarivo (Tana)
Arrival: Land at Ivato International Airport.
Explore: Take a taxi to the Upper Town (Haute Ville) for panoramic views of the capital and a look at the Rova (the Queen’s Palace).
Dinner: Enjoy French-Malagasy fusion at a local spot like La Varangue.
Stay: Overnight in Antananarivo
Tana to Andasibe-Mantadia
The Drive: Head east on RN2 (approx. 4 hours). The scenery shifts from terraced rice paddies to lush greenery.
Afternoon: Visit the Peyrieras Reptile Reserve en route to see chameleons, leaf-tailed geckos, and butterflies.
Evening: Take a guided night walk along the edges of the park to spot nocturnal mouse lemurs and sleeping chameleons.
The Call of the Indri (Andasibe)
Morning: Explore Analamazaotra Reserve. This is the best place to see (and hear) the Indri-indri, the largest living lemur, known for its haunting, whale-like song.
Afternoon: Visit Vakona Private Reserve. You can visit “Lemur Island” where habituated lemurs (including ruffed and bamboo lemurs) often jump on your shoulders—it’s a great photo op.
Stay: Overnight in Andasibe.
Andasibe to Antsirabe
The Drive: A longer travel day (approx. 7 hours) heading back through Tana and south to the volcanic highlands.
The Vibe: Antsirabe is known as the “City of Water” due to its thermal springs and is famous for its colorful Pousse-Pousse (rickshaws).
Activity: Walk the wide colonial avenues and enjoy the cooler highland air.
Antsirabe Workshops & Lake Tritriva
Morning: Visit local artisanal workshops. See how they transform zebu horns into jewelry or create miniature bicycles from recycled tin cans.
Afternoon: Drive to Lake Tritriva, a stunning emerald-green volcanic crater lake with local legends attached to it.
Stay: Overnight in Antsirabe.
Return to Antananarivo
Morning: Enjoy a final breakfast in the highlands before starting the 3.5-hour drive back to the capital.
Afternoon: Stop at the Ambohimanga Royal Hill, a UNESCO World Heritage site and the spiritual heart of the Merina people.
Shopping: Hit the Digue Market on the way to the airport for last-minute souvenirs (raffia bags, vanilla beans, wood carvings).
Departure Day
The Northern Island Escape (Nosy Be) | 6D/5N
Arrival in Paradise
Arrival: Fly directly into Fascene Airport (NOS).
Afternoon: Check into your lodge on the west coast (Andilana or Ambatoloaka). Spend the afternoon walking the beach or swimming in the Mozambique Channel.
Sunset: Head to Mont Passot, the highest point on the island. The 360-degree view of the volcanic lakes and the ocean at sunset is legendary.
Stay: Nosy Be.
Lemurs and Coral Reefs (Nosy Komba & Tanikely)
Morning (Nosy Komba): Take a boat to the “Island of Lemurs.” You’ll find Black Lemurs that are very friendly, along with local craft markets selling intricate lace and wood carvings.
Afternoon (Nosy Tanikely): A short boat ride away is a Marine Reserve. The water is crystal clear—ideal for snorkeling with sea turtles, stingrays, and vibrant coral fish right off the beach.
Stay: Nosy Be.
The "Sugar Loaf" & Lokobe Forest
The Experience: Take a traditional wooden pirogue (canoe) to Lokobe National Park, the last remaining primary forest on the island.
Wildlife: Look for the nocturnal Sportive Lemur peeking out of tree hollows, the tiny Brookesia chameleon (one of the smallest in the world), and Boa constrictors.
Stay: Nosy Be.
The Most Beautiful Beach (Nosy Iranja)
The Day Trip: This is a 90-minute boat ride, but it is unmissable. Nosy Iranja consists of two islands connected by a 1.5km thin sandbar that only appears at low tide.
Activity: Walk across the white sand bridge, visit the lighthouse, and enjoy a fresh seafood lunch on the beach. It is widely considered one of the most beautiful spots in the Indian Ocean.
Spice Markets and Departure
Morning: Visit Hell-Ville, the island’s main town. Explore the bustling indoor market to buy fresh vanilla beans, peppercorns, and Ylang-Ylang essential oils.
Afternoon: Final swim before your transfer back to Fascene Airport for your flight out.
The Great Baobabs & Dry Forest | 7D/6N
India to Antananarivo

Stay: Overnight in Antananarivo.
Fly to Morondava
Morning: Take a domestic flight from Tana to Morondava (approx. 1 hour).
Afternoon: Check into your seaside hotel. Morondava is a sleepy coastal town with a distinct “Wild West” feel.
Sunset: Head to the Avenue of the Baobabs. Watching the sunset behind these 800-year-old “upside-down trees” is a bucket-list experience.
Stay: Morondava.
Into the Wild (Kirindy Forest)
Morning: Drive 2 hours north to the Kirindy Private Reserve. This is a dry deciduous forest, totally different from the eastern rainforests.
Wildlife: This is the best place in the world to see the Fossa (the cougar-like predator from the Madagascar movie).
Evening: A night walk is essential here to see the Madame Berthe’s Mouse Lemur—the smallest primate on Earth.
Stay: Eco-lodge in Kirindy Forest.
Giant Trees and "Baobabs in Love"
Morning: A morning trek in Kirindy to spot the Sifaka lemurs (who “dance” when they cross the ground).
Afternoon: Head back toward Morondava. On the way, stop at the Baobab Amoureux (two baobab trees twisted together in a permanent embrace).
Evening: Relax by the beach in Morondava and try the local grilled snapper.
Stay: Morondava.
Betania Fishing Village
Morning: Take a traditional pirogue (dugout canoe) through the mangroves to the local fishing village of Betania.
